RAQ (Rarely Asked Questions)
Most comic strips have FAQ. I'm not classy enough for that. Instead, I bring you a collection of questions that have been asked once or twice. Ok. Maybe only once.

How do you pronounce that last name of yours?

"Smith." It's easier than it looks.

Will Eep and Vincent ever hook up?

No. Not in this reality, but that doesn't mean some can't dream ...

Is Eep based on a real person/Ducky?

As the more observant of you no doubt have noticed, Eep's character design (thin, glasses-wearing, long black hair) is based on Ducky (you know, back when he had long black hair). Personality wise, Eep isn't really based on any one person beyond myself.

If you really want to know which character is most like my Boy Toy, it's Wanda.

Did I notice a tattoo on Eep's arm? Does Eep have a tattoo?

Yes, yes, he does.

Does Eep wear boxers or briefs?
For those of you who feel like pondering the undergarments of 2-D characters:
Eep - Jockeys. Let's face it, Eep's too uptight to wear anything else. Plus, jockeys kill sperm. I think he would be all for that. Can you imagine Eep breeding?
Wanda - Boy Shorts. Sexy, but not uncomfortable.
Robert - Boxers. He's a laid back man. His unmentionables need to reflect that.
Vincent - Commando. Hey! I didn't put "man thong." Thank the powers that be for small favors.
Greg - Commando. He has no butt cheeks. What does he need a pair of underpants for?

What are all of Wanda's tattoos?

She has the 2 armbands on her upper arms, and a matching band around her right wrist, a Star of David on the inside of her left wrist, small wings on her shoulders, the goddess moon phases on the small of her back and a bat on her lower right hip.

What do you use to put your comic together?

Paper, pencil, markers, scanner, and Photoshop, in that order.

Why are Eep's and Vicent's fingers so pointy?

Originally, everyone had pointy fingers, mostly because I read far too much Dr. Suess as a kid, and I'm a HUGE fan of Ted Naifeh (king of the pointy fingers). After the chibi strips, the characters were redesigned subtly, and the only folks to keep their sharp-ended digits were Eep, Vincent and Greg.

Aren't pointy fingers kinda ... girly? Why do only boy characters have them?

The decision for pointy fingers vs. round fingers was made based on personality rather than gender. Eep is all angles, sharp and pointy, so it only makes sense that his fingers would stay that way, and I loved the look of the long-ass fingers and hands I had been drawing on him. Vincent is very effeminate, so I thought the “girly” pointy fingers worked for him. (Besides, they are so goth!) As for Greg, well, Greg is a skeleton, so he almost has to have bony-looking fingers.

Wanda’s fingers got rounded out, because I envisioned her as sort of a tomboyish girl, and since her sunny personality is opposite Eep’s gloomy one, her fingers were changed to reflect that. Robert received round fingers as well, because he’s chubby and the rest of his character design is round; he looks better with them.

You put WAY too much thought into your character's fingers.

Yes, yes I did.

Who told you that you could draw?

Your mom. Shortly before she begged me to stop beating her.

Why don't you update on time?

...

...

...

I procrastinate.

Are you ever going to start doing the comic in color?

Maybe. A color strip takes me at least twice as long to produce as a black & white one. And since working in color would, therefore, take a lot more planning, and a lot less procrastination ... Yeah.

There's also the fact that my instinct for color schemes really, really sucks. Really. The colors I pick aren't horrible, but they're obvious. I would love to be able to put together gorgeous palettes like Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends or Stuff Sucks, but that just ain't gonna happen. I don't know that making the jump to color would "improve" the comic any.

What's your Day Job?

I'm a customer service rep for an insurance agency. Before that I worked as a graphic designer/production manager at a print shop, and before that I worked as a "desktop publishing specialist" for GE.

Are you really a woman?

No, but I am one HELL of a drag queen.
